Artificial photosynthesis with nanoparticles!

At University of Zurich,researchers has developed a nanoparticle by adding zinc sulphide on the surface of Indium based quantum dots to use in artificial photosynthesis.This quantum dots can produce clean hydrogen fuel from water and sunlight.

The above image shows the apparatus,a double-layered rooftop panel.The top layer uses the standard semiconductor materials that go into energy-harvesting solar cells, the novel materials on the bottom layer perform the cooling task.
