Exceptionally well detailed image of sunspot captured from world largest solar observatory.

This high resolution (till now) image of sun showing a spot was captured by the U.S National Science Foundation's Daniel K. Ynouye Solar Telescope. According to Dr. Thomas Rimmele, Associate Director at National Solar Observatory " The sunspot image achieves a spatial resolution about 2.5 times higher than ever previously achieved, showing magnetic structures as small as 20 kilometres on the surface of the sun". High Resolution image of sun revealing detailed sunspot. (Image Credit: NSO/AURA/NSF.) High Resolution image of sunspot. (Image credit: NSO/AURA/NSF.) The sunspot is spread across 10000 miles was taken on 28 January,2020. The spot is just a tiny fraction of the sun yet a planet like earth would fit perfectly. For more detail:  Click here

Closest image of sun by "Solar Orbiter" ( till now).

"The Solar Orbiter",which was launched on 10 February,2020 by European Space Agency and NASA took the closest ever image of sun. The most detailed images of sun ever. Image of sun from "Solar Orbiter spacecraft". (Image courtesy: ESA and NASA) These images reveals a unique phenomena of sun called "Campfires"."Campfires" are actually tiny solar flares. The image of campfire was taken by an Extreme Ultraviolet Imager (EUI) of Solar Orbiter. The space craft was nearly at the middle of sun and earth (77 million km from sun) . Nasa discovered furthest point in solar system(till now).

Artistic rendering of New Horizons flying by Ultima Thule Image: NASA Nasa's New Horizon,a distant flyby, covered the longest distant in the history of human. The space probe was launched in 2006 and passed Pluto in 2016. The probe is currently at 4 billion miles fro earth. It has captured some icy rock space objects that has never been previously found called " Ultima Thule ". This will help to map our solar system more accurately.

Single device that can collect energy from sun and outer space simultaneously.

Courtesy:Linda Cicero, Stanford News Stanford scientists has demonstrated for the first time that heat from the sun and coldness from outer space can be collected simultaneously. The above image shows the apparatus,a double-layered rooftop panel. The top layer uses the standard semiconductor materials that go into energy-harvesting solar cells, the novel materials on the bottom layer perform the cooling task. Keplar spacecraft retired!

Courtesy: NASA/JPL-Caltech/UCLA/MPS/DLR/IDA Keplar, the space observatory by NASA, launched in 2009 to discover Earth-Sized planets orbiting other stars is no more. NASA retired this revolutionary telescope on 30th,October,2018 as it ran out of fuel. Some data related to the telescope given below. Courtesy: NASA

Smallest optical gyroscope in the world!

The new optical gyroscope -- shown here with grains of rice. Courtesy: Ali Hajimiri/Caltech A Group of researchers from California institute of Technology led by Ali Hazimiri, developed a gyroscope that is 500 times smaller than the current one. This tiny one uses a new technique called "Reciprocal Sensitivity Enhancement" developed by the group.

New material that stores sun's heat energy to generate electricity more efficiently!

A recent development would make electricity generation from the sun's heat more efficient, by using ceramic-metal plates for heat transfer at higher temperatures and at elevated pressures. Courtesy: Purdue University illustration/Raymond Hassan. A team at Purdue University developed a new composite material which are being used to make a concentrated plant to store sun's heat energy to generate electricity more efficiently. The video below demonstrates the process briefly.

Just look at this Robot!

Atlas from Boston Dynamics. Courtesy: Boston Dynamics "Atlas" the robot from Boston Dynamics shook the robotic industry recently with it's new feature. Now ATLAS can do Parkour! People now starts believing that it will definitely win the first Robot Ninja Warrior! The above video shows some actions of ATLAS.

3D printed cells!

This image of cells that were made fluorescent shows how they are printed in complex structures for the purpose of producing tissue such as tendons and ligaments. Courtesy: Robby Bowels,University of Utah College of Engineering A group of biomedical researchers from University of Utah developed a process of 3D- printing of cells to produce tissues(ligaments and tendons).A person suffering from damaged/ruptured ligament or tendons now can be treated with these 3- dimensional printed tissues.

Self powered heart monitor!

Save heat from summer to use it in winter.

Credit: Yen Strandqvist/Chalmers University of Technology A group of researchers from Chalmers University of Technology,Sweden developed a specially designed molecule which can store solar energy. The leader of the research team, Kasper Moth-Poulsen, Professor at the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, says  "The energy in this isomer can now be stored for up to 18 years. And when we come to extract the energy and use it, we get a warmth increase which is greater than we dared hope for"

First compelling evidence for "Exo-Moon"

Photograph: Dan Durda/Science Two astronomers from columbia university presented some compelling evidence of a Neptune-Sized moon (Exomoon) around a star which is 8000 light years away using Nasa's Hubble Space Telecsope and Kepler Space Telescope."This would be the first case of detecting a moon outside our solar system," said Kipping, an assistant professor of astronomy at Columbia .

New planet in solar system?

Demonstration of approx distance of new solar system object from other planets. Courtesy:Robert Molar Candanosa/Scott Sheppard/Carnegie Science Institution " Well, the search for another planet (Planet 9 or Planet X") was going on for long time, But,the latest discovery of a super distant object is putting more lights to that. The distant object also known as TG387 also known as "The Goblin" was spotted by astronomers at the Carnegie Institution of Science using a Giant Telescope called Subaru .

Two paralyzed people walked again using an implanted device.

Kelly Thomas and Jeff Marquis. Photo:University of Louisville Kelly Thomas got injured when a truck flipped with her inside of it and Jeff Marquis, after a mountain biking accident. They were told that they probably would never walk again. But in a study at University of Louisville on spinal cord implantation, they got their smile back!

Massive data breach in the history of facebook!

Courtesy:Facebook.Reuters Facebook has suffered a massive data breach last week which exposed nearly 50 million accounts of user including Mark Zuckerberg's.Company accepted the fact that there was a vulnerability in the software which caused data breach. The shocking part is hackers could also access apps which were logged in through Facebook.
